Very good book, goes into a lot of low level detail. I would have given it 5 stars except for the fact that is is a bit out of date. It discussed MongoDB version 2.4.0 but the latest version is 3.2 and there have been a lot of improvements in MongoDB since 2.4.0.

MongoDB is totally different now in 2019. This book is six years old. Nothing in this book works anymore. Especially with regard to sharding...

I've checked for updates to the ebook on Oreilly but it doesn't look like they have incorporated changes. That being said, I haven't found another book for beginners so this might be it.

Well written, doesn't dwell on anything and moves at a nice pace. You could get a lot out of this book if you just need to know some MongoDB and not how to shard and distribute (even though it has all that). Great book to pick up. I learned most of what I needed to know in just a couple nights of reading. Lots more material if I needed to start deploying to production, and feel like I could do that with this book alone.

Good book. Explains everything in clear detail but based on old releases. New mongoDB releases have things which invalidates several limitations mentioned in this book.

After reading this book, I've totally fallen in love with MongoDB! Ms. Chodorow has provided a very easy to understand, highly comprehensive work on MongoDB; with example code for each MongoDB concept. It is definitely a classic and a "Must-have" for any decent NoSQL Document programmer.

I did not find this book helpful for my specific class/needs. There may be better documentation out there, as there is little on the IOT.

Good book if you are running pre-mongo 2.6, some of the commands in the book have been deprecated (e.g. addUser). It does however have some good general mongo information

Missed opportunity. Disappointed.

Wasn't quite as bare as I would have liked, but it made me want to see the show. It's a great coffee table book - intriguing but okay in polite company.

Great book , great pictures , great cause ,great dealer and very fast delivery ! What more could one ask for?

Once a year, Broadway goes over the top--well even more over the top--with a strip-a-thon, all done for a very worthy cause: Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This fun, frivolous, delicious book memorializes this wonderful event with photos, front and back stage, of some very, very nice looking men. Some are still. However, some are not; capturing the hectic, frantic, ecstatic goings-on of this spirited and campy event. Sure you can say its arty--but its silly arty--not the least bit pretentious. This book is a cheap ticket to an expensive event--well-worth the time and money!

For what looked like it was going to be a fantastic look at backstage antics, nudity and actors baring it all, it is a HUGE disappointment. The quality of the photos is sub-par, less than desirable, sort of that hazy "artistic" look that actually is so unclear that often you don't know what the subject is.HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED, am returning the book right away for a refund...this the first time I've ever returned something to Amazon in over 10 years of using their service.

Is there actual full frontal male nudity? The verbiage leads one to think it is full frontal nude with genitalia, but then there's a couple of keywords suggesting "No, it's a tease"...I wish they would straight out say one way or the other.

This was a wrapped Christmas gift so I never saw it however the receiver, who has seen many up-market books of the male nude, said it was one of the best he had seen of this nature.

Highly recommended for anybody interested in looking behind the pure esthetic appeal and fascination of Japanese ceramics.Great combination of several points of view and cross-linking several fields.Somehow brought me back to my enjoyment and pleasure of reading "Gödel, Escher, Bach" years ago.Finally, I would like to recommend Malte Härting's "Einfachheit: Eine kulturphilosophische Untersuchung der japanischen Kaiseki-Küche" to anybody interested more in the culinary aspects and references described in the book.

A uniquely insightful book on what distinguishes "excellent" Japanese ceramics from "good" pieces. Suitable for both general readers and specialists, especially those with a background in philosophical aesthetics.
