This hardcover was well done and the illustrations are great. My favorite Lego book used to be the Lego Ideas book by Lipkowitz but after turning the pages on this one I think I have found a new favorite. The step by step instructions are easy to follow and the designers that participated in this are top notch. If you are a Lego fan or have a Lego fan in your circle of friends and family, this is a MUST BUY.PS: It has that new book smell that I love.
There are many different Lego books available. I ordered this book for a Christmas gift for one of my grandsons. He has put many, many sets together. This book has lots of detailed pictures that show step by step how to build different things. If you are looking for inspiration, but need some help with the building, this book will really help you. We have looked at Lego books wherever we could find them. We wanted a book with instructions and ideas that he could use with the legos he has. This book is great. He has Autism, ADHD, and Dysgraphia. He will sit and put an entire large set of Lego together. He has done this for years.
Our 3-year-old daughter loves this book, as its narrator is a female Lego character named Megs, whose enthusiasm for building and learning mirrors her own ("Mama, Megs is an engineer like me!!"). The book offers a simple storyline and presents an extensive menu of complicated, but cool models that younger kids can read about in awe and that older kids and adults can tackle with fun. If you have a budding builder, especially a daughter who wonders why she doesn't get to see "many girl engineers and scientists", this is the book for her or him!
This was my first Lego book to purchase. I really enjoyed the pictures showing what could be done with Legos. There are some that do have instructions but many of the pictures did not. It is a great resource to show what could be done for beginners or a resource for intermediate or advanced Lego builders to try and accomplish on their own. The book is a nice hardcover book with nice pictures and it is well laid out. It is a must for any Lego enthusiast. I plan on purchasing more Lego books in the future.
Our 10 year old loves any of the Lego books. He uses them as a treasury of ideas. Not always having the specialized pieces, sizes, or colors, he uses the books for inspiration and then builds his own creative masterpieces. We love the peace and quiet that accompanies his hours of thoughtful play and love seeing his constructions when he's done.
This book is great for Lego builder enthusiasts! It has many projects to choose from and has clear directions on how to build each item featured in the book. You do need lots of Legos to build these projects. I also think that it is best for children that are a bit older or have mom/dads help. My son loves all of the different projects in this book. As soon as he got it, he was off to his room to build! If Legos are popular in your home, this book is filled with great ideas!
My son has a big bucket of Lego from multiple sets that have gotten mixed up and instructions lost, etc. I got him this book and he has spent hours trying to build the different Lego ideas in this book. He is 7 years old and this book is full of color pictures, some diagrams and instructions and just fun to read.
This is a great book. But not for all ages. I had gotten it for someone 8 years old. I ended up keeping it for myself. If your child is very good at creating on their own, then they will be able to follow this book. Also, make sure they have all the parts that is in this book. These parts are available with various kits and some can be bought as accessories. Some kids will be disappointed if they cannot build the exact models in the book if they don't have the exact parts. Your child has to be able to think outside of the box.
